The FY 2011 President’s Budget Request of $7,501,658,000 for the Health Resources and Services Administration is an increase of $28,136,000 from the FY 2010 Omnibus level.

Quick Facts:

  • Approximately 20.27 million patients will receive access to high quality, comprehensive and cost-effective primary health care through HRSA’s Health Center program.

  • 149,438 people infected with HIV will receive life saving medications through the Ryan White AIDS Drug Assistance Program.

 

Goals:

  • Drive down costs and expand healthcare access for the whole family.

  • Increase the number of doctors, nurses and dentists practicing in areas of the country experiencing shortages of health professionals.

  • Ensure that qualified clinicians will be available to serve underserved populations in the future.

  • Improve both access to and quality of health care in rural areas.
