Performance Analysis -Rural health activities, within the Office of Rural Health Policy (ORHP), encompass several distinct programmatic activities, including Rural Health Policy Development, Rural Health Care Services Outreach Grants, Rural and Community Access to Emergency Devices, Rural Hospital Flexibility Grants, State Offices of Rural Health, and Denali Commission projects. Because of their shared purpose, these programs were assessed together using the Program Assessment Rating Tool and received a rating of adequate.

Performance Goal Results Context
Increase by 1 percent annually the number of people served through Outreach grants. ORHP has met this performance goal for five of
the past six years. .
This performance goal refers
to the total number of rural residents served by Outreach grants. The focus of these grants is determined by the community and therefore these grants support a wide range of activities to increase access to health care services. The common measure that cuts across these activities is the number of people served.
