The meeting included presentations and discussions on successful programs in nursing education that have increased the recruitment and graduation of diverse individuals. Council members and participants also identified key elements of success in innovative models that have improved the retention, professional development and promotion of diverse individuals within the nursing profession.
Day two included the development of recommendations to present in the11th report to Congress regarding increasing nursing workforce diversity, as well as an opportunity for public comment.
