Iceberg Diagram

Description: This chart uses the analogy of an iceberg to demonstrate the nature of cultural artifacts and assumptions. A small number of cultural artifacts, such as literature, fine arts, and games, are at the top of the diagram. They are labeled “Primarily in Awareness.” A large number of cultural assumptions, such as conception of justice, incentives to work, and body language, are at the bottom. They are labeled “Primarily Not in Awareness.”
