The effort and cost of finding new funding sources is high and, in most cases, requires key staff to devote significant time to searching online for funding opportunities, writing proposals, pulling together loan applications, and networking. Provider organizations that are successful in procuring funds from various sources have leaders that are always on the look-out for new funding opportunities and are able to identify and consistently pursue these potential opportunities. Some high-level strategies used by health centers and safety net providers who have been successful in securing health IT resources are outlined below.
