How do I get buy-in from the various stakeholders/users?
All the stakeholders and users of the new health IT system should be identified early in the process. The basic steps that should be followed to get buy-in are: 1) involving users during the initial requirements phase, 2) ensuring the participation of stakeholders and users at vendor demos and site visits, 3) developing a comprehensive training plan, and 4) ensuring that users and stakeholders are kept informed of the project implementation. In addition to these steps, every opportunity should be taken to inform users on the progress of the implementation.
