What are the benefits of QI?

While quality improvement is itself a benefit, additional gains often result from the quality improvement process.  The ultimate goal of quality improvement is improved health outcomes.  However, other benefits may also arise as a result of quality improvements.  These include:

  • increased efficiencies
  • reduced costs
  • decreased occurrences of medical errors
  • increased patient satisfaction
