Dear Dr. Lloyd‐Puryear,
The evidentiary review of Krabbe disease is now complete. The final report is enclosed.
Numerous changes have been made to the report since the May 12th, 2009, ACHDNC meeting to reflect the comments from the AC and to incorporate newer evidence.
Important changes in the final report include:
Updated literature review including two additional abstracted manuscripts
Further communication with eight Krabbe disease experts providing unpublished data
Revised tables throughout the document
Additional information on the New York State Krabbe screening methodology and updated numbers
Additional information on the high‐risk infants identified by New York State Krabbe pilot screening
Expanded treatment section focusing on morbidity, mortality and neurodevelopmental outcomes
Revised key findings, summary and remaining questions
In addition, the entire report has been revised to improve readability.
