Percentage of women, who had a postpartum visit within 42 days after delivery.
 
Definition:
Numerator:

Number of women with a documented postpartum visit to a health care provider within 42 days after delivery.
Denominator: Total number of perinatal users per UDS table 7 line 19, column h (this line is for deliveries.)
Unit & Text: numerator count/denominator count x 100 = %

The percentage of women who had a visit to a health care provider
on or between 21 days and 56 days after delivery.

The postpartum visit provides the opportunity for an assessment of the mother, child, family, and social resources and relationships through the provider’s interview, exam and testing. The visit should include an assessment for medical problems and family planning. It is also an opportunity to discuss and offer counseling on topics such as parenting, nutrition, breast feeding, postpartum depression, contraceptive methods, future health and pregnancies, domestic violence, weight management, nutrition and vitamin use, etc.
Physical exam should include: weight, blood pressure, breasts abdomen, and pelvic exam.
Test that should be performed include: Hemoglobin and hematocrit (if indicated), PAP test (if positive initially)
