Welcome to Human Subjects Protection at HRSA

Why HRSA Protects Human Participants in Research Studies

HRSA is required to protect human subjects under its Federal Wide Assurance with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Human Research Protections (ORHP) and HRSA’s policy for the protection of human subjects participating in research programs conducted or support by HRSA. The protections apply to studies conducted internally by Federal staff and to external studies conducted by grantees and contractors.
