• Why: Determine feasibility, ease of use, appropriateness, usefulness, and appeal of the adolescent Guide and Wallet Card

• Where: Baltimore, MD

• With Whom: Twenty-six adolescent females, ages 11-20

HRSA also pre-tested the Guide for Young Women and a companion Wallet Card with 26 women, ages 11–20, in Baltimore, MD.

Pre-testing of these materials was conducted to determine:

• Whether patients would be willing to complete the Guide in a clinical setting

• If the materials were easy to follow

• If the materials were easy to read and were at an appropriate reading level

• If the Guide was considered useful in terms of learning about their physical activity and eating behaviors, talking with providers, and making changes to behaviors

• If the format and design of the materials were appealing
