Speaker Notes:
Bright Futures is a new initiative that is sponsored by the Health Resources and Services Administration (or HRSA) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Bright Futures aims to empower women of all ages to seek preventive health services, share in health care decision making with their providers, and practice prevention in their daily lives.
The initial focus of Bright Futures is to help women prevent chronic illness caused by poor dietary habits, being overweight/obese, and living a sedentary lifestyle.
Therefore, Bright Futures has developed physical activity and healthy eating Guides for young (or adolescent) women and adult women to use with their health care providers.
