Healthy Grants Workshop: FAQs

When is the Healthy Grants Workshop?

The workshop takes place from Tuesday, April 16, to Wednesday, April 17, 2019.

Where will the workshop be held?

We will hold the workshop at Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) headquarters in Rockville, MD:

5600 Fishers Lane
Rockville, MD 20857

Who can attend the workshop?

Organizations with at least one active HRSA grant. The workshop is open to 200 active HRSA grantees. Due to space limitations, only one registration is allowed per grantee organization.

Why are you hosting the workshop?

To inform HRSA grantees about a range of issues and questions they may encounter while administering their grant. The workshop will focus on grants administration from award through closeout.

Who should I send to the workshop?

Consider sending a representative such as a business official or financial manager who is familiar with grants management; or, send a person whose primary role in the grantee organization is to administer HRSA grants.

What is the workshop agenda?

View the Healthy Grants Workshop agenda.

I’m coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

There are numerous hotels near HRSA headquarters. (See: Area Hotels)

Is the workshop location Metro-accessible?

Yes. HRSA headquarters is approximately 0.8 miles from the Twinbrook Metro Station (red line). (See: Transportation)

Will you provide lunch or other food?

We will not provide meals. However, there are restaurants nearby and you will have 90 minutes for lunch to allow you sufficient time for security screening to re-enter the building. (See: Lunch Options)

Will I need to pre-register for the workshop to attend?

Yes. Due to federal building security restrictions, we are unable to accept walk-up registrations the day of the workshop. (See: Security)

Can I use some of my HRSA grant funds to attend the workshop?

It depends. Generally, travel costs for technical assistance workshops are allowable; however, there may be specific grant program legislation that limits using grant funds for this purpose.

Because travel costs may or may not be allowable or included in the grant budget for your program, please check with your grants management specialist and project officer.

When will the meeting begin and end?

The first session will begin at 9 a.m. on April 16, and the final session will end no later than 4:30 p.m. on April 17.
