There are a few off-site dining options within walking distance. If you choose to leave the building for lunch, please allow sufficient time to re-enter 5600 Fishers Lane through the security checkpoint.

For those who want to avoid leaving and re-entering the HRSA building during lunch, a cafeteria is available inside the building. Boxed lunches will be available for registered attendees to pre-order one month prior to the workshop. Information on ordering box lunches will be forwarded to registered attendees shortly after registration closes.


There are three public parking locations within walking distance to 5600 Fishers Lane:

    The entrance to the garage is on Twinbrook Parkway between Fishers Lane and Halpine Drive.
    If you are coming from Veirs Mill Road on Twinbrook, the entrance is right before Fishers Lane.
    You can also reach the garage by turning left at the first access road on Fishers Lane.

Walking Directions from Twinbrook Metro Station

  • Proceed left out of the Twinbrook station.
  • When you leave the Metro station, make a right turn toward the east side of the parking lot.
  • Proceed to the northeast corner of the parking lot and leave through the pedestrian gate.
  • When you exit the station, you will be at the corner of Fishers Lane and Twinbrook Parkway.
  • Cross the street and proceed down Fishers Lane to 5600 Fishers Lane.
  • The building will be on your right.

Metro Directions from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)

  • Take the Yellow line toward Fort Totten.
  • Transfer at Gallery Place/Chinatown to the Red line toward Shady Grove, and exit at Twinbrook station.


HRSA requires a government-issued photo ID for you to enter the building. If you are a U.S. citizen, a driver’s license, passport, or state-issued ID from one of the 50 U.S. states is acceptable identification.

Attendees visiting from American Samoa are required to bring an alternate form of government-issued photo ID, such as a passport.

If you are not a U.S. citizen or if you are using foreign documentation as identification, you must email immediately following the submission of your workshop registration to receive additional instructions.

All workshop attendees will undergo 100 percent screening each time they enter 5600 Fishers Lane. Screening consists of x-raying all packages, luggage, or bags, and the use of magnetometers (metal detectors).

To the extent possible, please limit the amount of personal belongings you carry into the workshop. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and can be admitted into the workshop beginning at 8 a.m. on May 19-20.

What items does HRSA prohibit?

  • Dangerous weapons and explosives, including firearms and ammunition.
  • Instruments or material likely to produce substantial injury or damage to persons or property such as knives with a blade of 2.5 inches or longer, club-like items, and striking devices.
  • Alcoholic beverages.
  • Controlled substances (such as illegal drugs or paraphernalia). This does not include prescription medication.
  • Dogs and other animals (identified in 41 CFR 101-20.311), except for service dogs.
  • Other items prohibited by law.
