HRSA's Bureau of Health Workforce (BHW) improves the health of underserved and vulnerable populations by strengthening the health workforce and connecting skilled professionals to communities in need.

Through scholarship, loan, and loan repayment programs, HRSA helps underserved communities recruit and retain primary health care providers.


National Health Service Corps
Competitive program. Must be enrolled in accredited physician, family nurse practitioner, nurse-midwifery, physician assistant or dental program.

NURSE Corps Scholarship Program
Need-based, competitive program. Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in accredited Registered Nursing (RN) training program located in the U.S. 

Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students
Need-based, competitive program. Must be enrolled in and apply for aid to participating health professions training program.
