Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinics

The US Department of Health and Human Services’ Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) oversees and funds the prevention of STDs. STD funding is authorized under section 318 of the Public Health Service Act. Projects under Section 318 are awarded to State and local health departments, academic, and public health organizations.

Registration Tips Step 1.Check your registration. Search the 340B OPAIS to make sure you are not already registered.

Registration Tips Step 2.Be aware of the latest registration dates and deadlines. The current registration periods are listed on the top right corner of this page, along with a link to the 340B OPAIS and registration forms. The registration forms are open only during the registration periods.

Registration Tips Step 3.Collect needed information. You will need to supply your Medicaid billing number or National Provider Identifier (if you will be billing Medicaid for drugs purchased at 340B prices), as well as basic information such as your mailing address and point of contact. Your Federal Grant Number is also required during registration. This number is 14 or 16 digits (sample: 1H25PS004661-01), and is not the same as your Funding Opportunity Announcement number. OPA no longer accepts the format of "STD-*State*" as the Federal Grant Number. Your registration will be deleted if you do not include your Federal Grant Number. Contact your state or local STD program manager if you are unsure of your number.

Registration Tips Step 4.Identify your Authorizing Official. Only an individual who can bind the organization to a contract, such as a CEO, COO, CFO, clinic administrator, or program manager can submit the 340B on-line registration, another employee (not consultant or contractor) must be designated as the Primary Contact.

Registration Tips Step 5.Prepare to complete in one session. The authorizing official must complete the on-line registration in one session. If left inactive, the session will close and you will need to start over.

Once approved, an email will be sent to the Authorizing Official. The message will confirm your successful enrollment in the 340B program and will include the date on which you can begin purchasing 340B discounted drugs and the 340B identification number that manufacturers, wholesalers and others will use to verify your participation in the 340B program
