New Spanish language OPTN patient resources available

The Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) has released new patient-friendly resources in Spanish. These resources provide educational information for patients and families to help them understand and navigate the organ donation and transplantation process. Find answers to the most common questions from people seeking a transplant for themselves or a loved one. Resources include information about how to find a living donor (PDF - 299 KB) and how multiple listing works (PDF - 166 KB), as well as frequently asked questions about liver (PDF - 186 KB), kidney (PDF - 170 KB) and heart (PDF - 183 KB) allocation and more.

Find Spanish resources from the homepage under “Spanish resources.”

English versions of these resources are also accessible from the homepage or in the main navigation under the “Patients” drop down menu.

The team at your transplant hospital will always be your first and most complete source of information regarding your current medical condition and treatment options.

If you have other questions or comments, you may contact the OPTN Patient Services line at (888) 894-6361 or submit them here.
