HRSA is pleased to announce new Continuing Education opportunities, providing health professionals with access to timely learning experiences designed to strengthen knowledge, build skills, and support effective practice.
HRSA will offer virtual continuing education activities focused on topics relevant to the health workforce and the communities they serve. Activities may address emerging issues, current evidence and best practices, and other topics that support professional knowledge development.
Sessions will also highlight HRSA programs and grantees, providing participants with opportunities to learn about their work and illustrating HRSA’s role in supporting health care delivery and improving health outcomes for communities across the nation.
HRSA Grand Rounds
HRSA Grand Rounds offers virtual continuing education activities for the health workforce. These activities help health professionals maintain and build their knowledge and skills.
Topics focus on the needs of the health workforce and the communities they serve. Sessions may cover:
- Emerging public health issues
- Current evidence and best practices
- Professional development topics that support learning and growth
Sessions also highlight HRSA programs and grantees and show how HRSA supports health care delivery.
Continuing education credit
Participants may earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by attending a HRSA Grand Rounds session and completing the activity requirements. There is no cost to earn CEUs.
The type and number of credit available varies by session and are listed in each event description. Participants receive CEU documentation after they complete all requirements.
Accreditation
HRSA Grand Rounds is a collaborative effort between HRSA and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). SAMHSA is jointly accredited by the:
- Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education
- Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education
- American Nurses Credentialing Center
SAMHSA can award interprofessional continuing education credit for multiple clinical professions. SAMHSA is also approved through the Association of Social Work Boards’ Approved Continuing Education program.

HRSA Grand Rounds is open to everyone. The program is designed to support the health workforce, but anyone can attend and enjoy the sessions.
To earn credit, participants must:
- Attend at least 85% of the session
- Complete the post-session evaluation
Participants who meet these requirements will receive a certificate after the event.

Accreditation Statement
In support of improving patient care, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide interprofessional collaborative continuing education (IPCE) activities for the healthcare team. IPCE activity credits are accepted as CME for medicine, and CE for dieticians, nurses, pharmacists, physician associates/physician assistants, psychologists, and social workers signifying the activity was planned by and for the healthcare team.
SAMHSA designates this activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.0 CEU continuing education credits.
Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.
