The AOOS Workgroup Chair assessed the need to create three sub-workgroups, or “teams,” to more efficiently implement discrete activities and leverage specific expertise.
The goals of the EPP team are to review EPP policy, data, and guidance to organ procurement organizations; ensure the definition of EPP is appropriate; and recommend policy revisions to improve EPP.
The goals of the Offer team are to concisely define an “organ offer”; describe the components of a good offer; outline the minimum requirements for a valid offer; review policies related to offers; and recommend policy revisions to improve definitions and understanding of an organ offer.
The goals of the Compliance team are to review, evaluate, and assess current OPO AOOS rates and trends and to recommend methods to educate member OPOs to improve their compliance. It will also review OPTN management and oversight of OPOs. This team will work closely with the OPTN’s Membership and Professional Standards Committee (MPSC) to ensure alignment of efforts.
