On July 27, 2026, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded the OPTN Policy Process and Committee Support Services Task Order.
This award represents another important milestone in implementing OPTN modernization and establishes dedicated support to strengthen policy development, committee operations, and stakeholder engagement. The awarded work will include:
- Supporting efficient policy development: Providing facilitative, administrative, and logistical support to the OPTN Board of Directors and committees to help ensure policy activities continue efficiently while implementing improvements identified through the OPTN Modernization Initiative.
- Improving transparency and coordination: Enhancing policy tracking, implementation planning, education, and post-implementation monitoring to provide greater visibility into policy development and implementation activities.
- Strengthening collaboration across the OPTN: Working closely with HRSA, the OPTN Board, OPTN committees, and other OPTN contractors to support continuity of ongoing policy work while advancing a more coordinated, multi-vendor operating model.
- Building a modern policy support framework: Establishing processes and operational support that promote a more transparent, efficient, and sustainable policy development process for the nation's organ donation and transplantation system.
