State Offices of Rural Health Program (SORH)
Who can apply:
States with State Offices of Rural Health are eligible to apply. Only one applicant from each state is eligible, based on the designation of the governor.

- Who are pregnant
- Who live in rural areas and other communities in need
- Who received a transplant
Our programs also support the health workforce, health systems, and facilities. They provide care for these communities.
We do this by awarding grants to:
- States and territories
- Tribes
- Educational and community groups
What’s a grant?
A grant is federal money for ideas and projects that benefit the public.
Who can get a grant?
We award grants to organizations. These could be local or state governments. Our grants help them solve critical needs in their community.
What needs are critical?
A few examples:
- Expanding the health workforce
- Increasing access to affordable and quality health care
- More options for telehealth
- HIV medical care, medications, and support services

Rapid Response Rural Data Analysis and Issue Specific Rural Research Studies
Who can apply:
All domestic public and private entities, non-profit and for-profit, are eligible to apply. Eligible entities may include, but are not limited to, public and private institutions of higher education, public and private health research organizations, foundations, tribes and tribal organizations, and faith-based entities.
Nursing Workforce Diversity (NWD) Program
Who can apply:
Eligible applicants include accredited schools of nursing, nursing centers, academic health centers, State or local governments, and other private or public non-profit entities determined appropriate by the Secretary. Eligible faith-based organizations, community-based organizations, and Tribes and Tribal Organizations can apply for these funds if they are otherwise eligible.
For-profit entities are not eligible under this Notice of Funding Opportunity.
Individuals are not eligible to apply.
Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) Program for Professionals
Who can apply:
For the purposes of this program, eligible applicants include:
• Accredited institutions of higher education or accredited professional training programs that are establishing or expanding internships or other field placement programs in mental health in psychiatry, psychology, school psychology,
behavioral pediatrics, psychiatric nursing (which may include master’s and doctoral level programs), social work, school social work, SUD prevention and treatment, marriage and family therapy, occupational therapy, school counseling, or professional counseling, including such programs with a focus on child and adolescent mental health, trauma, and transitional-age youth;
• Accredited doctoral, internship, and post-doctoral residency programs of health service psychology (including clinical psychology, counseling, and school psychology); and
• Accredited master’s and doctoral degree programs of social work for the development and implementation of interdisciplinary training of social work graduate students for providing behavioral health services, including trauma-informed care and substance use disorder prevention and treatment
Regional Telehealth Resource Center Program
Who can apply:
Eligible applicants include domestic public, non-profit, and for-profit entities. Domestic faith-based and community-based organizations, tribes, and tribal organizations are also eligible to apply
National Telehealth Resource Center Program
Who can apply:
Eligible applicants include domestic public, non-profit, and for-profit entities. Domestic faith-based and community-based organizations, tribes, and tribal organizations are also eligible to apply.
MCH Navigator Program
Who can apply:
Domestic public or nonprofit private institutions of higher learning may apply for these MCH training grants. See 42 CFR § 51a.3(b).
Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Part D -- Women, Infants, Children, and Youth (WICY) Grants Supplemental Funding
Who can apply:
Eligibility is limited to current RWHAP Part D WICY funded recipients.
Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Leadership, Education, and Advancement in Undergraduate Pathways (LEAP) Training Program
Who can apply:
Only domestic public and nonprofit private institutions of higher learning may apply for training grants (See 42 CFR § 51a.3(b)).
