- Tribes
- Educational and community groups
What’s a grant?
A grant is federal money for ideas and projects that benefit the public.
Who can get a grant?
We award grants to organizations. These could be local or state governments. Our grants help them solve critical needs in their community.
What needs are critical?
A few examples:
- Expanding the health workforce
- Increasing access to affordable and quality health care
- More options for telehealth
- HIV medical care, medications, and support services
How do I get a grant?
Search for an open opportunity. If you’re eligible, prepare and then apply.
Who can apply:
You can apply for HRSA-24-042 (DPs) or HRSA-24-041 (NCCT) if your organization is in the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, or the Republic of Palau and is:
• Public or private
• Community-based Organizations
• Institutions of Higher Education
• Tribal (governments, organizations)

Transition for Youth with Autism and/or Epilepsy Demonstration Projects

Cooperative Newborn Screening System Priorities Program (NBS Co-Propel)
Who can apply:
You can apply if your organization is in the United States and is a state or political subdivision; a consortium of two or more states or political subdivision of states; a territory; a health facility or program operated by or pursuant to a contract with or grant from the Indian Health Services; or any other entity with appropriate expertise in NBS as determined by the Secretary, including a faith-based organization, tribe, or tribal organization. Per 42 U.S.C. § 201, the term “state” includes, in addition to the several states, only the District of Columbia, Guam, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands (Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and Republic of Palau).

Additional Notes:
If you are a recipient of the Healthy Start Initiative – Enhanced (HRSA-23-130) (HSE) you are still eligible to apply for this grant if you are proposing a new project area, that is, an area not currently served by your or an existing HSE award. HSE grant project areas have been settled and it is not HRSA’s intent to alter or reset existing HSE project areas. Therefore, if you propose to serve a project area that fully overlaps with your own award or another HSE award, your application will be deemed ineligible and will not be considered. Please see Appendix H for a list of Healthy Start Initiative – Enhanced project areas.
