What is the program?
The NWD program increases nursing education opportunities for people from disadvantaged backgrounds (including racial and ethnic minorities underrepresented among registered nurses).
This NOFO strengthens the eldercare workforce in rural communities where there are health care disparities related to access and delivery of care through the expansion of these opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Are you eligible?
Eligible applicants include:
- Accredited schools of nursing
- Nursing centers
- Academic health centers
- State or local governments
- Other private or public non-profit entities determined appropriate by the Secretary
Eligible faith-based organizations, community-based organizations, and tribes and tribal organizations can apply for these funds if they are otherwise eligible.
