Who can apply: To determine eligibility, HRSA uses the National Center for Health Workforce Analysis (NCHWA) projections1 through 2038, which indicate there are 41 states with a projected shortage of primary care physicians. The top quartile of states with projected shortages of primary care physicians include 12 states: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah. HRSA has identified accredited public, osteopathic and allopathic medical schools in the eligible states using the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) and Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). Excluding schools with active MSE grants, Appendix A lists the 23 public medical schools in six states that appear eligible for this funding opportunity.Note: Grantees currently receiving MSE funding are not eligible to apply for this notice of funding opportunity.

Who can apply: Eligible health professions schools include the following: 1. Medicine (Doctor of allopathic medicine, Doctor of osteopathic medicine); 2. Dentistry (Doctor of dentistry); 3. Other health disciplines (Doctor of veterinary medicine, Doctor of optometry, Doctor of podiatry medicine, Doctor of pharmacy, Doctor of chiropractic medicine); 4. Behavioral and mental health (Graduate degree in clinical psychology; Graduate degree in clinical social work; Graduate degree in gerontological counseling; Graduate degree in marriage and family therapy; Graduate degree in mental health counseling; Graduate degree in rehabilitation counseling); 5. Public health (Graduate degree in health administration; Graduate degree in public health); 6. Allied health (Bachelor's and graduate degrees in dietetics; Graduate degree in audiology; Graduate degree in occupational therapy; Graduate degree in physical therapy; Graduate degree in speech pathology; Bachelor's and graduate degrees in dental hygiene; Bachelor's and graduate degrees in medical laboratory technology, Bachelor's degree in radiologic technology); 7. Nursing (Associate, bachelor's, and graduate degrees in nursing (pre-nursing is not eligible)); 8. Midwifery (Certified nursing and non-nursing graduate degrees in midwifery (pre-nursing or pre-midwifery is not eligible)); and 9. Physician Assistant (Graduate degree in physician assistant studies).

Who can apply: These types of domestic* organizations may apply:State governor-designated entities such as:The office of the state dental director.State-run university or dental school.State or special district government, including the District of Columbia, domestic territories, and freely associated states.We encourage states to work with tribal entities to facilitate greater coordination between states and tribal governments. We will only accept one application per state. All states are eligible to apply. If you are a current recipient with a period of performance ending on August 31, 2026, you are eligible to apply.

Who can apply: Section 801(2) defines school of nursing as an accredited (as defined in paragraph 6) collegiate, associate degree, or diploma school of nursing in a State where graduates are (A) authorized to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEXRN); or (B) licensed registered nurses who will receive a graduate or equivalent degree or training to become an advanced education nurse as defined by section 811(b). , such as:Baccalaureate nursing programs; andCommunity colleges that train associate-degree nurses.

Who can apply: You can apply if you are an accredited school of public health, or another public or nonprofit private institution accredited to provide graduate or specialized training in public health.

Who can apply: Eligible participants are domestic dental schools and other accredited domestic dental education programs, such as dental hygiene programs or those sponsored by a school of dentistry, a hospital, or a public or private institution that offers postdoctoral training in the specialties of dentistry, advanced education in general dentistry, or a dental general practice residency. Dental education programs must be accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation

Who can apply: You can apply if you are an accredited school of nursing.Any domestic schools of nursing affiliated with this application must be:Accredited at the time of application and for the duration of the award. Accredited by a national or state agency recognized by the Secretary of Education for the purposes of nursing education. You must submit official documentation of accreditation in Attachment 1 for all affiliated nursing programs. Tribes and tribal organizations may be eligible if they own and operate an accredited school of nursing.

Who can apply: The eligible applicants are state governments and accredited schools of medicine.

Eligible organizations include accredited schools of nursing, nursing centers, academic health centers, and domestic public or private non-profit entities entities, such as state and local departments of health, faith-based organizations, community-based organizations, tribes, and tribal organizations.
